Our extensive health care services provided at St. Francis Woods include all of our nursing staff to be certified CNA's and LPN's for the highest possible health care service for our residents. Selection of our nursing staff means going through the vital background checks and required certifications to ensure the best care in our facility. They are present at all times year round for any minor or major medical assistance. We also provide medication management that is distributed to each resident daily and is securely handled by our nurses to ensure the right amount of medications are being given to each person, as that's when they will feel the best on a daily basis.

Our facility is more than just rooms for our residents, but a place that they can call home and be active in. St. Francis Woods is conveniently located by main highways, without losing it's calm and peacefulness for our residents. Room Amenities - Peoria Supportive Living
Our community offers 92 private resident apartments. Each unit is a studio apartment with a private restroom and ample closet space. We encourage our residents to decorate their space in their own style. Each studio apartment rental includes the following:

- Kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave

Our gorgeous 92 room facility is designed to be both convenient and private for our residents. Each unit is a large studio with a private bathing/restroom area, bed, closet space, a/c unit, and room for the resident to have the furniture of their choice.

Every day there are meals prepared for each resident with the opportunity to eat together in our dining hall. Each meal is prepared fresh with high quality ingredients by our certified dietitian that caters to each individual dietary requirement; whether it's for an individual that has diabetes and has to cut back on sugar, to the individual that has to have lower salt food for blood pressure. In addition to having their privacy, residents also have the ability to leave our facility whenever they choose. If they feel like grocery shopping on their own or going out to lunch with friends and family, we don't limit their freedom. They can leave and come back to our facility at whatever time in the day they'd like. We also accept visitors to come and keep our residents company so long as they get the necessary temperature check upon arrival due to COVID-19 requirements.

Our facility is a safe haven for residents to enjoy living comfortably without having to sacrifice their own health and be provided with high quality care at all times. Your loved ones' comfort doesn't have to be compromised by financial obstacles. We accept Medicaid as payment and we can help get you signed up for Medicaid if doing so suits your financial needs. Additionally, we will facilitate a smooth transition from private pay to Medicaid if/when the need arises. We also provide restorative therapy for our residents in the form of group sessions 3 days a week, and available to residents for private sessions if they so choose. Restorative therapy includes light exercises and stretches, as well as working on grip strength and balance. We believe restorative therapy is important for strengthening, building balance, and restoring the confidence among our residents. We want our residents to be in the best shape possible to live to their fullest potential in our facility.
St. Francis Woods also believes in the power of socialization in our residents for mental acuity and overall health. We care about the well-being of our residents in every aspect, whether it's physical or mental health. Research has indicated that being around others increases brain function, speed, and memory ability. It's important for us to utilize socializing amongst our residents for not only loneliness that you could see at other supportive living facilities, but to create a better state of mind for our residents.

Hospice & Palliative Care
When the time comes, our staff can also assist with hospice care providers insuring that you or your loved ones needs are met and end of life care is provided with the utmost dignity, peace and respect. If unable to meet you or your loved ones medical needs within the community, assistance with transfer to a skilled nursing care with hospice would be provided. Most times residents are able to stay here in their home with their St. Francis Woods family making their end of life a comfortable and peaceful transition.

Dietary Amenities
We provide three freshly-prepared meals per day for our residents and three snacks per day between meal times. We also provide an "always available" menu with alternate items that can be substituted for any meal on the menu. This helps us accommodate residents with varying tastes. It also allows options for our residents who may be adhering to a specialized diet.
Home Health Care Services
Home Health Care is a service that can be obtained in your home here at St. Francis Woods, such as wound care, Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy, nutrition therapy for illness, injury or strengthening. In general, the goal of Home Health Care Services is to get stronger, regain your independence to become as self sufficient as possible. Rest assured, as hospital stays grow shorter, specialized home health services are more important than ever.
When transitioning from hospital to St. Francis Woods, our staff will assist with locating a Home Health Care Service that will benefit your loved ones rehabilitation journey. You and your loved ones will have less worry, stress and time away from work. Even residents who already are established at St. Francis Woods can receive and benefit from strengthening to help with activities of daily living so they can live as long as possible.
Home Health Care Services
In some cases, a resident's insurance may provide coverage for Home Health services. These types of services are welcome in our community and are provided by outside home health companies. Their staff members can come into the home to assist with specialized care such as speech, occupational therapy, and nutritional therapy. St. Francis Woods' nursing staff works closely with many local home health agencies with the goal of helping our residents remain as independent as possible.

We provide our residents with opportunities to be a part of our weekly and monthly activities within the facility and outside the facility in Peoria. Activities include visiting the zoo and going to local shops and restaurants. Aside from these activities, residents also have the ability to leave our facility whenever they choose. If they feel like grocery shopping on their own or going out to lunch with friends and family, we do not limit their freedom.
We also have a resident council that lets our residents vote and choose what activities and types of meals they would like, giving your loved ones the freedom of choice and dignity they so deserve.
